When not doing Plaid Cymru Youth work, how do you spend your time?
(Trying) to keep fit- playing rugby for Caernarfon, a bit of football, and playing the tuba for Llanrug Brass Band. I currently work as a Community Regeneration Researcher for Gwynedd Council, before returning to Aberystwyth to do a MA in Welsh Politics this October.
You’re hosting a special dinner and you get to invite any four people in the history of the world to join you. Who are the four and why?
Steven Gerrard (my footballing hero), Gwynfor Evans (the politician I admire most), Michael Collins (I’m very interested in Irish history), and finally Robert Owen (I admire his vision and how he treated his workers).
What made you join Plaid Cymru?
One of my early interests of my childhood was looking through maps, atlases and pictures, trying to recall cities, capitals, towns, countries, languages, flags, landmarks and so on. I believe that the interest has propelled me to come to identify Wales much better, and the belief that Wales, and other small countries should have the right to claim their spot on the world map. The only party that supports this is Plaid Cymru. As well as this, over the past few years, since beginning to take an interest in politics, Plaid’s policies seem to make sense. I strongly believe that I’ve found my political home- after all, it’s battling for Welsh independence that sparked me to take an interest in politics in the first place.
