Plaid Cymru’s annual conference, this year held in Aberystwyth, saw more active participants from Plaid Ifanc than ever before. Nearly 40 young people came to our fringe event, where we discussed empowering young people and our crucial role in building a vibrant Welsh democracy. Thanks to Adam Price, Liz Saville Roberts MP and our Women’s Officer Branwen Mair for their insight and inspiration. Daniel Roberts, Membership Officer, chaired the session.
As well as this, two motions proposed by Plaid Ifanc were passed – one calling for a Youth Parliament for Wales, and another written by our Llanelli branch calling for an end to mental health stigma in schools.
Of course, the social side wasn’t neglected either. As well as making activists chuckle with the satirical fanzines created thanks to the contributions of so many of our members, we even managed to replicate the photo of the first Cymdeithas protest on Trefechan Bridge!
Finally, thanks to the good and the great of the party for modelling and endorsing our fantastic new t-shirts! If you’d like to order one, or would like to get involved with Plaid Ifanc by getting active with your local group, send us an email to [email protected].
