‘Gwnewch y pethau bychain, do the small things’, a phrase heard time and again on St David’s Day.
Plaid Cymru did a small thing yesterday, it passed a policy. Consideration of our beliefs and affirming what we stand for is something done all the time by Plaid Cymru members.
Adopting words on paper as party policy may be a small act but its effects can be large and far-reaching.
The policy passed was on trans equality. We’ll fight for trans people’s inalienable right to live free from prejudice, discrimination, and persecution.
We’ll fight for trans people’s inalienable right to determine, and live in accordance with, their own gender identity and access services and facilities in line with their gender identity.
We believe that prejudice and discrimination against trans people is unacceptable and should not be tolerated under any circumstances.
We do the small things because it unlocks the door for big things.
Today, we celebrate being Welsh. Being Welsh, and being a part of Plaid Cymru, means celebrating every person; equal and together.
