Plaid Cymru Youth National Executive yesterday held their monthly meeting in Llanelli. The aim was to meet those involved in our newest and most active branch, which is only a few months old but has attracted around twenty very active members from schools all over the Llanelli constituency. Some National Executive committee members went to help the team to deliver leaflets in Tycroes, while others stayed with the big team of young volunteers in the town centre, speaking to passers-by and making their presence felt. Despite there being a presence also by the Labour party and UKIP, the enthusiastic local team of young activists gave a positive impression to the residents of Llanelli, countering the negativity and scaremongering of some of the other parties present.
The National Executive Committee then held their meeting in the constituency office during the afternoon, after meeting the local activists.
The Westminster Election campaign was on the forefront of the agenda, as well as organising the Plaid Youth National Conference which will be held in Aberystwyth at the end of March. For more information on how you can get involved, keep visiting our social media outlets and our website in the following weeks.
All our solidarity goes out to Vaughan Williams’ campaign in Llanelli. We hope to see the new branch growing even more to raise awareness of the national struggle amongst the young people of Llanelli and the surrounding area! Remember, if you want to get involved in Llanelli, just go over to our “Where are we?” section on this website to find out all the contact details for the local branch, and remember to join our mailing list in the “Join Us” section.
